Google Assistant

You may use the Google Assistant in the living room or from the basement TV to control various devices throughout the house, find information, play music, etc.

To activate the living room Google Assistant, just say “Hey Google,” followed by your request. When using the TV, press the microphone button then speak your request.

Examples

Lights

You can turn on or off the lights in the living room and any of the bedrooms. Note that If the lights are manually turned off they will not respond to voice commands.

  • “Hey Google, turn on all the lights”
  • “Hey Google, turn off all the upstairs lights.”
  • “Hey Google, turn on the living room lights.”
  • “Hey Google, turn off the blue bedroom lights.”

Thermostat

  • “Hey Google, set the thermostat to 68°.”
  • “Hey Google, set the thermostat to [ Comfort | Eco | Sleep ].”

Information

  • “Hey Google, what’s the WIFI password?”
  • “Hey Google, what’s the weather today?”
  • “Hey Google, what restaurants are nearby?”
  • “Hey Google, when is sunset?”
  • “Hey Google, when is checkout?”

Entertainment

  • “Hey Google, play Michael Jackson on YouTube music.”
  • “Hey Google, tell me a joke.”
  • “Hey Google, tell me a story.”

Be aware that you may need to rephrase your request if the Assistant doesn’t answer as you expect, it can be be picky sometimes.

You can also use the assistant as a touchscreen device.
